Specialty beads with numbers
on them can be found in many materials such as plastic number
beads, pewter number beads and sterling silver number beads.
Numbers are used to create jewelry that celebrates a special
date or year such as a birthday or graduation year. Sterling
silver number beads are also used to create nursing bracelets.
Nursing bracelets have beads that represent a clock, which is
why number beads are needed for the numbers 1 to 12.
Number bead are available in single digits
from 0 to 9. Also, sterling silver number beads that are cubed
shaped have large holes. If stringing sterling silver number
beads that are cubed shaped onto flexible beading wire, or
a thinner wire that is 1.5mm or less, you will need to use
some type of round bead or spacer bead in between to help
fill in the large holes and align the beads. The use of spacer
beads is not needed when stringing onto thick chain or cord,
but is recommended for aesthetics.
