Beaded Key Chains with Alphabet Beads

Key chains can be made with any type of alphabet bead - plastic or metal. Any size bead is suitable as well, it just depends on your personal preference.

When choosing your materials, there are many options to consider. This includes the hole size of the beads, you will need to choose stringing material that fits through the bead. For small hole beads, use flexible beading wire such as Flex Rite or Soft Flex. For larger hole beads, there are a larger variety of options including leather cord, suede cord, plastic lacing

Instructions for Large Hole Alphabet Beads
Note: This project requires that two strands of stringing material fits through each bead. After the beads are strung, the cording will be knotted at the end to secure the beads.

1) Select beads and line them up in sequence, then measure how long the beads will be when strung (in inches), multiply this number by 2 and add 4 inches, this will be how long you need to cut your cording.

2) Cut cord to determined length, fold the cord in half and string on key ring, position key ring at the fold.

3) Knot the cord about ½” from the key ring, this will secure the key ring onto the cording.

4) String all beads onto to both ends of the cord, when finished, double knot the end of the cord to secure the beads. Trim excess cord.
